Recently I learnt that trimmjng a plant encourages more growth. I honestly have no clue which sections to cut and which ones to leave alone.

Is there a way to be sure?

it’s up to you to decide the shape and size you want. Pepper plants regrow from all over the stem. I would slowly start from the top and cut down a little.

If you want more growth, the best you can do is give it enough light and fertilizer.

I see you have 2 main stems going up, you may want to cut one off

Heya I am a landscaper, fruit tree pruner, and edible gardening enthusiast. Honestly the plant is looking pretty good. My general strategy is to prune for a open upright vase structure to encourage air flow and light penetration. Pepper plants set fruit on new growth so heading cuts will encourage bushy growth compared to say thinning cuts.

If it’s not flowering and you want to focus on growth, I’d throw it plenty of nitrogen and make sure your soil is draining well.

It looks like it has good bones for sure.

If it’s flowering already, which by that size it should be, you can give it more P & K.

I wouldn’t prune it as it needs to thicken up.
