I used to work at Papa John’s like 20 years ago when it was actually good. My manager was interviewing a former manager of little Caesars. Come to find out they used higher quality of cheese at the time than Papa John’s was using

I worked at a little Caesar’s for like a couple months during the pandemic while my real job was closed. The reason their pizzas come out like this is really simple. They’re cheap. They use as little dough as humanly possible as the base, and make you stretch it to the edges of the pan even though it rips in several places. It’s the same reason all their pizza tastes burnt. They are rigid about the amount of cheese you put on top, so all the sauce goes into the oven exposed and comes out with a char taste. When we had the “Cool” manager in who used to let us make our own pizzas with as much dough and cheese as we wanted, they would actually come out delicous.
