Composed around the harvest of 2004 with no less than 121 wines from 12 different vintages dating back as far as 1990! First time trying a Krug with this much age on it.
A beautiful golden colour in the glass. Quick and fine mousse which doesn’t hang around too long.
The nose smells like a French patisserie, chocolate croissant, marmalade, roasted almonds, and amber honey.
The palate still has a lively acidity in the backbone, calm lemon citrus sits beside a candied orange, dried apricots, and marzipan.
The freshness might just be fading, so if ya got em, drink em.

Im always hesitant to buy Krug because I have access to way better champagnes under that price mark. Was it worth for you to spend this for Krug?
I had a 162eme, 2006 recently that I found for sale for $170USD in the back of some shop. It was on its side, though not at cellar temp.
I agree with your assessment. They hold up with age, but I wouldn’t push it much past 10 years. I’ve had wines that tasted more oxidized/aged that were fresh off the presses and not even that expensive. Mine fell apart after an hour or so. Luckily we had it at Thanksgiving so not much time was had with it when shared anyway.
