Honestly the taste wasn't as phenomenal as ive been told but it was quite good nonetheless.
I must also add that the only seasoning ive given it was salt and that was before cooking. I thought it'd be like butter to bite through but it was slightly chewy. Also it didnt use that sous vide method i just put it on a pan for a total of 12min.
So yeah, what are y'alls thoughts?

It’s very lean for a ribeye that’s why it was chewy, buy higher quality and you’ll notice a significant difference. It seems that your pan wasn’t hot enough since the sear is pretty bad if you cooked it for 12 minutes it should be well done and almost burnt. Did you use a non stick pan?
Impossible to judge from a picture but you could probably have used more butter when basing since it’s so lean to get more flavor.
The perfect point of the meat, maybe next the pan very hot to seal it, then lower the heat a little, move the pan aside and add the butter and the herbs you want (rosemary, thyme,…) when the meat is melted. butter, bring the pan to the heat again and begin to baste the steak little by little, with about 7 minutes you should have the perfect meat.
This is how I do it, everyone has their recipe and their way of enjoying meat.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Cooking a steak is probably the easiest thing you can do. I can’t understand all the people looking for social media reassurance that they “did good.” Good boy, you applied heat and turned the meat brown 🙄
Great cook. Ruined by serrated knife
Looks good 👍
this looks more like chuck roast than a ribeye
You need a black iron pan scorching hot with high smoke point oil such as avocado. Sear all sides for 30-60 seconds.
That’s not a ribeye.
Looks like a chuck steak. Poor mans carne asada
