hi everyone! i just wanted to share this somewhere. 3 years ago, i baked for the first time-i baked the almond sugar cookies by nino's home. at the time i was struggling with my mental health and did not have much hope left. making these cookies made me fall in love with the process of baking.
since then, i've baked so many things. baking distracted me and i looked forward to eating everything i baked. i think baking truly saved my life. it also helps me show love to others by sharing my food.
since we celebrate new year instead of christmas here i made these again last night! these cookies in particular are not my fave (i enjoy chewy cookies vs crunchy) but they hold a lot of meaning for me. i spent a lot of time decorating these last night (working with melted chocolate is a pain..) to celebrate not only new year, but also recovery.
pictures:

3, 4, 5, 6 – 2022 (i was not home during 2023 new year)
7, 8 – 2021 (first time i made them)
happy holidays ♡

Baking and cooking are mindful and fun hobbies. I, too, find them therapeutic. Glad you’re feeling better! One day at a time.

I’m glad it did!! Keep it up!!
I can relate to everything you’ve said.. especially that I struggled with an ED. I learned how to bake and cook and now I can’t stop. Thank you for sharing. Happy to see other people using baking as therapy 😊
❤️ Baking and cooking, for those who enjoy it, can be such a wonderfully fulfilling hobby. You get to learn how to bounce back from failures and jump for joy when you finally get the hang of something. It’s such a great way to share and bond with others too.
So glad you found something that brings you a bit of happiness and joy in life. I still consider myself quite amateur in the baking and cooking world, but it gives me something to look forward to, so I’m happy to see you are experiencing that too.
Much strength and care to you in your journey forward! 🍪
Then I’m so glad you found baking! We need you! 💞

I love the bears holding the almonds, they look so cute! Might have to steal that idea for the next time I’m making cookies.
The little bears holding the almonds (pecans?) are so adorable!! 🐻
