The best Rioja I’ve ever had

I had such high expectations given the vintage and wine, and they were met.

Dark cherry, sour cherry, stewed strawberry, leather, balsamics, mature oak. Wonderful density and concentration on the palate. A complex palate of dark cherry, dried red berries, stewed strawberry, plum along with more mature leather, cedar, oak and a lovely mature toasty jaminess. A hint of pencil and pencil lead at the end. A long finish showing all the layers of complexity. I love the concentration here, reminds me of a mature Unico or Bordeaux First Growth.

I’ve been lucky enough to try the 2010 twice and it blew me away both times.
