I am really careful too, it’s not like I don’t try ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok, glad to see I’m not the only one.

I got a fancy glass jar with a lid (and a smaller one for sugar). I cut open the flour with scissors and pour the whole thing into the jar.
Avoiding the mess is secondary, though. The main reason I do it is to help me lie to myself that I’m the kind of person that has their shit so together that they keep flour and sugar in fancy jars on the counter.

Undo the first fold and then run a butter knife, serrated side down, and cut the adhering paper. It’s an extra step but it saves you the frustration of dealing with torn bags.

Hate the packaging

I manage to open all of them well by being extremely patient and careful just to see if I can. Then I transfer to an airtight jar.

I like using Cambros for this reason and so I can see how much I have left. Opening in your sink helps avoid the spill of flour caught in the fold.

I also feel like it leaks more than any other flour.

It’s the year 2025, and we still don’t have resealable flour bags. Sigh.

Yes! KA in particular has the worst bags for opening.

I swear I saw this exact post the other day

I transfer everything I get at the grocery store straight into airtight glass jars when I get home. You might want to consider doing this for at least your baking supplies.

Sometimes I’m tempted to open it like drug dealers open a bag of coke in movies, with a knife.

Happens all the time. Flour packaging is horrible.

I also just pour it into a sealable container. I use these: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09M66TBW6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09M66TBW6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1)
They come in sizes from 8lbs (3.6kg) up to 35lbs (16kg), which should cover most home-bakers needs.
(I’m not an Amazon Affiliate, so I don’t make any money off this recommendation)
Are you people trying to keep these bags for something?
The Oxo pop fits a bag perfectly.
Only use airtight containers, flour gets everywhere otherwise
