New year, New Genesis s-325

I’ve had a Spirit for about 5 years or so that I got for about $65 off Craigslist. Served my family well (in addition to my 22” Weber kettle and my offset stick burning smoker), but it was at the end of its life.

Spirit2’s were on close out at Home Depot around me, but I kept missing getting one – that was frustrating for the last week or two. So I’d settled on trying to find a gently used Genesis, and then I ended up finding a new in the box Genesis 325.

Got it put together today, did my initial burn (30min at max heat), let it cool and a few hours later fired it back up for its first cool – pork chops, 2 different preparations. Everything came out great and oh my goodness the grill just “feels” great – the smoothness of the casters rolling on my deck, the lid opening & closing, and watching the burners light beautiful blue… I’m glad I stuck with a Weber and I’m super pleased I moved up to a Genesis for my gas grill.

I like having grilling options and I’ve missed the convenience of a gas grill a few times recently.
