this order had 8 hot chocs on it. then the one after that had 4. THEN ANOTHER 2 ON A SEPARATE ORDER!!! loving life. was training my coworker today as well so it was a good challenge for her i guess

    The worst thing about a lot of hot chocolates is steaming milk in a big pitcher only to have it scream for 2 minutes straight.

    The shop I opened was on a Main Street with a downtown Christmas parade. We would make like 300 hot chocolates in a couple hours. It was madness.

    We started using an insulated warmed carafe for the hot chocolate and kept it to where you can’t make modifications besides adding whip cream.

  11. How should I make a hot choc? I usually melt choc with some water, becomes pasty, fill half a mug and then the rest with milk. But my problem here is the top half is way whiter than the bottom so I serve and say “hey you should stir the fuck out of it”

  14. Actually I asked my boss to buy a hot chocolate machine, yes it’s a pain in the ass to clean.

    But a really good time/life saver.

  15. Just use the goddam hot chocolate server. Fill it with your beverage and it will be kept at your desired temperature. 5 seconds to take a cup, pour and serve it

    I don’t mind when someone asks for a plain hot chocolate as I still get to to do the art on top with the chocolate powder trick , it’s the cream and added extras which get to me

  17. I’ve noticed whenever someone orders a hot chocolate almost always the next few orders are also hot chocolates. I’m pretty certain that people in line hear hot chocolate and think “mmm maybe I’ll get that”

    I work at a tourist spot and a transit hub. Last year during December alone we sold over 1,000 8oz hot chocolates. That is NOT including other hot drinks and larger size hot chocolates. Don’t know this year yet, but probably beat it.

    This is why I use a hot chocolate machine in the winter months 🤣
    I premake the hot chocolate and have it spinning in a machine that keeps it hot. The person taking the order can then also dispense it if needs be.

  21. I personally hate making hot chocolates because we use chocolate powder and scooping it is more time consuming lol. But reason I hate it most is that the powder just makes everything dirty, my steam wand? Covered in chocolate powder, which then makes my cloth dirty. I find as soon as I clean my cloth/water the next order will always be a hot chocolate 🤣
