It’s the best NY style slice I’ve had outside of NYC. Possibly better than any I’ve had in NYC.

  1. Danny Boy is great and I’m happy to have them as a part of the LA pizza scene. But being in NYC rn, I disagree with it being as good or better than anything in NYC lol

  2. It’s so good! I will say, I recently bought a whole pie as soon as I got home, folks ripped into the box as soon as I walked in they were so excited. It was missing that slight crisp edge that the slices get at the store. Especially around the crust, it makes a difference. So I suggest getting the oven pre-heated and just pop it in for a sec on pizza stone (Or sheet pan) if you can wait. Otherwise, just go in knowing…

They make a the best margarita pizza I’ve ever had.

Their Saturday specials are insane. Last week was Creamy Artichoke, week before was Vodka Marinara Basil. Mother’s Day they had a Hot Grandma (Sicilian pepp with jalapeño and a honey drizzle).

Oh, yeah, and Halo (the building it’s in) has tons of outlets throughout the sitting area. It’s a dope study spot.

Is the parking better w the westside location?

It’s definitely not better than NYC, but excellent for sure.

  6. That sausage slice is superlative.  Also the plain cheese. So good!

  7. I still need to try their Sicilian, which is supposed to be good. Their NY slice was pretty disappointing to me. It tastes alright and the crust is interesting combining both crispiness on the bottom and softness above that, but it really isn’t like NYC pizza . IMO Joe’s is the most accurate, and Prime is somewhat close as well. Danny Boy’s just isn’t.

I eat Danny Boys a lot but is it really that good? Pizza Bianco is way better.

  9. We must have gone on the wrong day, all three of use hated the pizza. We got three slices and it was bland, muted and soft. It was such a disappointment

NYC has better spots but those are far and few in between. Most NYC spots are pretty average.

Also, most of the pizza spots in LA are owned and operated by NYers/East Coasters, so it’s funny when NY peeps in these threads say those very places don’t know how to do NY pizza proper, completely unaware of the owners being from NY.

I’d take Prime over Danny Boy’s ten times a week, it was fine but not worth the hype imo

Mediocre at best. Really let me down ordering a whole pie.

That place is terrible. Reddit glazing over the most wack spots as ALWAYS. Apollonias or nothing.
