I was quitting hello fresh due to quality issues and overall high costs.

In process of cancellation, the csr team refused to stop a box being sent out, and refund the cost(was not assembled, 4.5 days before delivery).

I also cancelled the delivery with veho, the carrier, but hello fresh refused to stop the process and then proceeded to call me a ‘Karen’ when requesting a refund.

Terrible customer service. I was granted a refund after mentioning I would post this conversation online. Best of luck with this food delivery service.

  1. I get you’re frustrated, but they’re pretty clear about this policy. They have to draw the line somewhere, though I wish they had an opt-in model instead of opt-out to prevent these situations. The Karen slip is unacceptable in terms of customer service, but doesn’t seem totally off the mark, to be honest.

    Nah, this one’s on you. You missed cutoff. It isn’t fraud and you know it isn’t. Suck it up, cancel, get your last box next week and move on.

    Dropping an “I’m going to post this on Reddit” is a total Karen move. Good on the customer service rep for sniffing you out ahead of that

  5. Whenever I’ve had problems I get a lot further by calling them. Last week I cancelled but was to late so I still got a box and they refunded 50%.

    I skipped my last two boxes with no issue in the app. Wasn’t charged. Wasn’t a jerk to customer service, either.

    They tell you when you need to cancel by. Reading isn’t that hard.

    I mean, that’s likely a template they use and are meant to replace the name or someone sent it to the CSR and they copied and pasted it without correcting the name. Still funny.

    In the UK, they send email with confirmation of changes. If you didn’t make the change in time, or didn’t get the confirmation email and try again a minute later, then your bank will laugh at you too.

    Wouldn’t surprise me if you were actually an HF marketing person trying to make a fake post in the hope it goes viral.
