Found a cast iron Lodge Wok that fits perfectly into the bottom of the EggSpandor. It works awesome!

I hate to be “that guy” but things cook so fast in a wok that you’re not really imparting much of any additional flavor to the protein. So you are mostly just wasting lump with this approach.

There are lots of dedicated gas-powered wok burners for use outside. They’re not too expensive either. Or you can cook inside on your stove top if you have a hood.

Of course if you’re just looking to have fun using your egg in a different way, then by all means feel free to ignore me and Egg on!

  3. That looks great, it just takes too long for my egg to get to real wok cooking temps. I much prefer using my power burner, it’s like 60,000 BTU and gets there instantly. BGE can work though if it’s well cleaned out, but from what I see most people cooking in a wok aren’t really cooking hot and fast enough.

I use my wok on my egg and i think it’s worth it because i can get it WAY hotter than my electric stove top. I could always get one of those wok burners but it’s just one more thing to own ya know?
