RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Hundreds of people from in and around Belle Fourche stopped by the city’s community hall for a Christmas dinner.
This was the 42nd annual iteration of the dinner. Janie Stevens has worked each year to help make the event happen.
“It’s all done with donations,” Stevens said. “The businesses have donated almost everything.”
Stevens cited the Belle Fourche Lynn’s Dakotamart and Lueders grocery store as helpful food donors. The meal featured turkey, ham, pie, and more – all for free. Other local businesses made monetary contributions.
Santa also stopped by the center of the nation to hand out gifts to children in attendance.
Stevens said the Christmas dinner has grown continuously since beginning in the early 1980s.
