I had this most wonderful soup in Seoul. It was served with shaved ice in it and seemed quite simple and refreshing. It had notes of gaspacho and was served to me like a banchan. I have found a recipe for Oi-Naengguk but it's not the same as it has soya sauce and chili in it.
Attached is a picture of the soup that I had in Seoul. Any help would be appreciated.

Could it possibly have been dongchimi broth, or naengmyeon broth without the noodles?

was it sour, ferment-y, or endlessly complex but seemingly very simple in ingredients? it could be fermented radish broth like in naengmyeon

Very likely dongchimi, as many restaurants have it almost like a palate cleanser. Was it mildly vinegar-y? If you don’t have a korean grocery near you, you might try ordering online as it’s quite common. Unlikely to be as good as the place you had, since most restaurants vary the recipe, but an online recipe might be a good place for you to start, if you want to chase it down.

    Good luck!

I don’t remember vinegary notes. A touch of seaweed, a bit of julienne cucumber and sesame seed

This looks like oi-naengguk to me, similar to what my mom makes. I know you said you found a recipe for one, but I’ve never seen/heard of oi-naengguk with soy sauce and chili in it
