I use that brand sometimes. I usually go for the vindaloo, and I add extra peppers and stuff, usually habaneros.

I tried one of their sauces and found it disgusting… Glad you’re enjoying it!

I agree that this brand is tasty, but in no way would I call it “spicy”. Probably not something a hothead would like without adding spice.

What annoys me is that anytime a popular food brand makes a “spicy” or “Triple X Asshole Assimilator 5000” version of one of their products it’s NEVER as spicy as you think it is

Butter chicken isn’t traditionally that spicy.

You should try this newish brand called “Mumtaz at home”. Their sauces are way more authentic and 10x better than Patak’s.

  7. Don’t use the sauce, get the paste, it’s much better.

That stuff is a Vancouver pantry staple lol. It’s kind of like how Americans have canned gravy

Pataks are tasty but I always add extra spice/chilis.

Almost all mainstream is never actually hot, max chilli icons are barely enough to register for most places.

I didn’t sense any spice at all when I tried it. It’s the mayonnaise of butter chicken.

  11. I use pataks when I make sauce from scratch. I add a jar to beef everything up.

Traditionally butter chicken isn’t ment to be spicy.

Do they sell this locally near you, or do I get it online?

It says spicy paprika, not sure what your expectations were 🙂

I’d say it’s warm but certainly not spicy. Their vindaloo is also just at a warm certainly not spicy level as well.

Both sauces are tasty but need to be doctored to get the spicy level required

    Entry level Indian basically

For people who’re feeling a little adventurous but think literally anything with spicy or hot in the name is going to send them to hospital with a prolapsed anus

Butter chicken is one of the easiest things to make from scratch and you can make the gravy as hot as you want!

  18. I buy the Maya Kaimal tikka masala simmer sauce brand from Target and add a couple dashes of Torchbearer’s Garlic Reaper hot sauce. Add 2 tablespoons of sour cream to help thicken it and you have a very good spicy tikka masala.
