I bought a 2 ft. Cherokee Purple from Home Depot for the hell of it about 3 months ago. Got home, replanted in a bigger pot with a trellis. Tomato food, watering, and babysitting it daily, its about 5 ft. now seemingly very healthy. Blooms, bees, sun, and pruning all good. No diseases, pests or problems i can see. However, the fruit don't seem to be getting large very fast. I just figured to keep watching and waiting. Some of the smaller ones about the size of a nickel are getting red. I didn't think that would happen until they're bigger. As I know how big they can get, should I be worried or do something?

Thanks in advance.

The best thing for tomatoes is to have lots of root space. Personally I use containers made from half a fifty gal barrel.
The best performance will be planted in the ground, but more space is better. 🍅

The fruits are smaller than expected because the container is smaller than the plant would prefer. They’ll still be delicious, though!

Maybe top dress with some fertilizer. Looks pretty good though

I agree the container is too small. I think you could fill it to the top with good potting soil. Add some fertilizer and water daily. I still try to figure out which fertilizer works best. I’ll try Masterblend, I tried to find it locally but looks I can only get it from Amazon…
