I've not had milk (to drink) for over a month now. Yesterday I tried original Silk almond milk and I think it's too sweet. I was wondering what goes into making almond milk at home and then where to source almonds. What's your favorite milk alternative?

Westsoy soy milk, unsweetened, just soybeans and water.
I get almond breeze vanilla or plain unsweet. I’ve never made it myself so can’t help you there.
Whatever soy milk is cheapest. I pour it over my berries and eat it like cereal.
Soymilk. Favorite for a couple decades now.
Rice Dream. On my cereal for over 30 years.
Organic. Minimal ingredients. I prefer almond recently instead of oat.
Just so you “original” in the silk brand usually has added sugar. Youre looking for “unsweetened”. I like the unsweetened soy and oat milks best from silk personally. Soy has the advantage of more protein
Malk almond is my fav
Westlife boxed soy milk. It is far and above the best .
Trader Joe’s soy milk is my favorite. Only ingredient is soybeans and water and it’s very creamy. 🙂
I put oat milk in my tea for years. Then one day, I tried soy milk. Never going back, it’s fantastic.
I throw some almonds I bought at Costco into my Vitamix with some water, and BOOM! Homemade almond milk.
You can get unsweetened versions of most plant milk.
The only one I’ve made at home is oat milk. It wasn’t too time consuming and it turned out well. I imagine it’s also the cheapest to make at home.
My go to is unsweetened soy milk but I know a lot of people go for unsweetened almond.
I like some variety and I think different milks are better for different purposes.
Silk organic unsweetened soy milk in the green carton for life.
No reason to complain about Kirkland soy milk so far.
Cashew milk! Soy is second for taste. Almond and oat if they’re sweetened.
Two other brands, Ripple and Califia, make a plant-based milk that I think essentially matches cowmilk in taste and macros.
Eventually like to make my own using ingredients I grow myself.
The silk original has added sugar. I love the silk unsweetened vanilla.
Almond and cashew. Soak nuts overnight. Drain and rinse. 1 cup of nuts, 2 cups of water, plus some vanilla and / or maple syrup or agave for sweetness and blend. You can also do with basically any nut or seed butter. Couple table spoons and water and blend. I use a cup of hemp seeds if I’m out of nuts. Lasts a few days in the fridge but when you make it when you need it, it only takes a couple minutes and no need for left over

I very specifically like the soy and oat milks from Aldi. I’ll certainly use other brands when necessary, but if I’m buying I go to Aldi.
Thought that was fabric conditioner for a second that bottle is huge. Anyway Oat is my favourite, I don’t mind Soy but I tend to shit myself after consuming it.
Oh yeah, you have to get unsweetened, no matter what kind. I have been drinking almond milk for years and recently I started getting soymilk – I get it from Walmart, its shelf stable in a blue box. Way more protein, but it may have a weird taste if you are just starting on your plant based milk journey.
Get an unsweetened milk.
Alpro soy milk unsweetened. Good protein and vitamin/minerals content.
Silk Soy
Couldn’t buy Silk Almond Milk ever again. I used to consume every day until I opened one and bugs were pouring in my cup. I called customer service and they shipped coupons discounts for more Silk products. Even that I received those I couldn’t delete the moment out of my mind. Glad they are more brands to buy from.
Home blended cashew and walnut, whole & unfiltered/un-sieved, and it’s just for breakfast bowl porridge or overnight chia pudding. I drink tea and coffee black, so I don’t make it as smooth and silky as it could be. No need. It’s healthier with its fibre and all its omega content anyway.
Soymilk. Make about 1.5L every day in my soyajoy g5. Order my beans from signature soy. Really yummy.
Unsweetened Silk Soy Milk 🥛 = Best of the Best. Red Carton.
Oat milk is my jam. 👍
Strawberry milk is my favourite milk alt/j oat milk is nice
Elmhurst cashew or walnut milk. Just nuts and water. Delicious
Oat milk fiend 🙂
Silk extra creamy oatmilk. To me it’s the most similar to actual cows milk.
Oat milk and soy milk
Almond if I want healthy or cheap. Extra creamy oat if I want taste or texture.
Surprising just blending some oats its like i dont need to refrigerate. Not the creamiest milk it just works for general stuff
I mix soy, almond and coconut to roughly even amounts. It comes close to being neutral tasting and creamy like regular milk. Just adding any of them plain, to a good cup of tea, is pretty bad.
Unsweetened vanilla almondmilk. Used to drink soy but I prefer the almond now after working at Dunkin donuts and drinking cups of it on my break 🫢
Been liking Oat milk for that creamy texture, Planet Oat has been good to me
Eden foods unsweetened soy milk ftw! Addicted. It’s so creamy and delicious. Just non gmo organic soybeans and RO water.
The company also has other great products and the highest of farming and business practices.
Sometimes I make my own when I have time. My favorite is walnut milk. High in great fats and creamy. Add a touch of salt
Came tp say soy, it8a more verasatile as i also make vegan mayo with it or add to baking etc
Soy for me.
Unsweetened plain Silk Soymilk for sure.
