This is my price point for a pellet grill. I’m Looking through the specs, and there’s no real difference? Does anyone have opinions on either? Recommendation?

Best Buy sells grills now?

Can you spend a little more for a grill that is leaps and bounds better than either of these ??
I’ve had the Trager for several years now and am very satisfied with the grill and results.

I have that Pit Boss for over a year and have no complaints!

I own the traeger 34 and if it broke I would buy it again.

I have that pit boss, had it since 2021. Their customer service is outstanding. Their 5 year warranty is awesome and they honor it every single time. If you can get a 1150 from Lowe’s, do it. It’s bigger, sure, but the ash clean out is so much easier. Big fan of pit boss.

I have the Traeger in your screenshot. It’s the only smoker I’ve ever owned. While we love the way it cooks, some things I’d like to point out:
– I now smoke in large batches, vacuum seal, and freeze. My next buy will be a larger capacity. You will likely grow out of the limited size of the Pit Boss quickly. Smoking takes hours, preparing one meal at a time becomes extremely inefficient fast.
– My next smoker will be able to drain the pellets. The Traeger in your screenshot doesn’t have a way to empty the pellets.
– As mentioned, smoking takes hours. While you don’t want to be changing temps, there are times where adjustments will need to be made due to a multitude of reasons. Since you will be likely app monitoring with temp gauges anyways, it’s worth it to get one that can be controlled over WiFi.
I had a similar price point when I was jumping in a few years ago, yet, it would have been more cost effective if I had spent some more money up front. The only way I will be able to get my above bullet points is to buy a whole new smoker.

Be careful with Traeger, I have 575 and the temperature is way off and I read I’m not unique. If I had the opportunity again I’d get a pit boss.

I had an older model Traeger that was okay, gave me more problems than good food. Upgraded to a camp chef and have been happy minus the horrible app.

Pit boss is solid. They have good replacements and upgrades. I’m sure treager is the same. Sometimes you can find them super cheap at odd places like target. I got a target exclusive pit boss pb1230 and it was cheaper because it was painted brown.

I have the pro 34 2 years now and not one single problem I love it!

Trawlers at this price point might as well be Pit Bosses or any other garbage. I’d recommend a Weber Searwood, but many like the Recteq.

I just purchased that pit boss a few days ago. Smoked my first brisket last night and it came out amazing. Hopefully it holds up but I have no complaints so far.

I’m on year 4 of my pitboss and the wear items have worn but I essentially have a new grill for $100.
The outer tub is rust free, and I see rust on every other Traeger.

Costco version of the 34 has been running great for years for me.

I own the 34. So I’m biased. No complaints here for sure

If I was going to consider a pit boss, it would be the titan all day long.
