Recipe:
* trimmed the fat off 1.5 lb chuck roast (there’s only 2 of us you can double this recipe if needed) seared the fat in a pan and then seared the chuck roast in the fat * added a 10.5 oz can of beef consommé to the crockpot (I recommend using low sodium if you can find it) along with 3/4 cup beef broth, 3/4 cup Yuengling (beer- optional), 1 tbsp Worcestershire, 1 lipton soup packet, 1/4 an onion (i sautéed mine in some of the beef fat and beer prior- optional) pepper, italian seasoning (or rosemary and thyme seasonings), and garlic then added the chuck roast to that * cooked on low 8 hours * cut my french bread and added butter and garlic and parmesan to the bread and baked at 375 for 3-5 min * took my chuck roast out of the slow cooker and shredded, then added to the inside of the french bread along with swiss cheese on top (gruyère would be better imo) broiled on low for 5 min and took the au ju out of the crockpot and served with a dash of mayo. Can also add sautéed/carmelized onions or mushrooms for an added bonus!
