A stainless steel blade that never needs sharpening 🙄 I didn't have the heart to tell her.

  1. Stays sharp forever*

*if you never open the package

Is it stainless steel or copper? The diagram says stainless steel but the title says copper, are the sides of the blade just copper plated? Truly weird, this is some bullshido level advertisement.

  3. Stays sharp for the life of the blade*

^(*caution blade may snap after each use, consecutively becoming more brittle.)

When the knives ultimately dull… you should ask the owner/s if they would be so kind to chop/slice/prepare some veggies with you to let them know just how wonderful the product they bought is

The world’s hardest metal: copper (stainless steel)

  6. Well, do the cut out ovals really keep slices from sticking?

Oh, I had a boss who’d bring in crap like this all the time. We had a slap chop, a Magic Bullet, plenty of dollar store Betty Crocker stuff, home tupperware containers, a pineapple corer that said “Bahamas” on it even though we didn’t have pineapples, ever, knife blocks (you know, when like 6 different knives are shoved into one wood block and not a single one of them isn’t terrible) and those BULLSHIT ultra-thin, small plastic cutting mats.

“Now you don’t need to bring in your knives!”
“Look, you slap it and it dices the tomato for you!” (SMASH SMASH SMASH)

It was my job, being the only cook there, to keep asking to pass those decisions by me first. I had to explain why I didn’t want those items each and every time they appeared. My boss was a fucking dolt.

I have this 2-pack….in my home kitchen, because my sister in law thought it was cool. And I don’t like using them at my house….commercial use? Come on.

  9. It’s the thought that counts. Bless her heart.

  10. beanlord518

Bought one of these for a dollar 2 years ago and it’s still pretty sharp actually.

  11. Is she a stay at home mom from the 90’s? Everyone should know this BS by now

  12. HorrorLettuce379

With that knife’s knuckle clearance you’d be punching the board while chopping.

  13. Sharpen that bad boy enough and youll get a free bread knife! Win win

  14. SuperDoubleDecker

Do they actually expect people to use those for prep?

“I got yall some nice new knives”

  15. Ants_at_a_picnic

I have one of these at home and it’s actually a good knife. Tang doesn’t go through the whole handle but it is sharp. It’s light weight and does the job. The handle is plastic and will melt if too close to heat. Not too bad at all.

  16. I remember a stand-up bit in the early 90s about shopping for “back to school”, and “safety scissors”:

“[…] so you got a _compass_ that could kill a horse, and scissors that couldn’t cut dirt […]”

I hated those shitty plastic scissors so badly…

  17. SelarDorr

im curious how it actually performs. try it out and post?

  18. gguignorantslut

Do you work for a lady named Susan in Fountain, CO by any chance?

  19. I actually have this knife at home. My ex brother in law gave it to me. I’m pretty sure it was like $5 off TV.

That being said, I use it all the damn time. It’s my kitchen utility knife. I use it to open packages, mostly. Sometimes I use it to cut a pat of butter off of a stick.

Its claims are false. It held an edge for maybe 3 uses.

  20. FamousFangs

What the length on those blades? I use a 10″ chef as my daily driver… can’t imagine those are half that and with no tang.

  21. takeoutboy

I saw bins of these for .99¢ a pack, at a local store before Christmas.

  22. handsyndicate

So did the manufacturers actually cut the Ovals out to save on the material needed to make a unit?

  23. EconomistSuper7328

You’re going to have to wear that ugly sweater when she’s around….

  24. theglenlovinet

My mom gave me a couple of these for Christmas. I’ve just been cutting cheese with them… it’s been alright for that. Don’t think I’ll use them for much else.

  25. JaeqwanFTP

Give them to the dishwasher, he/she will find something to use it for. Hammer/pry bar/self defense tool

  26. pineappleshaked

    Dishwasher safe !

But hand wash in warm and soapy water..

  27. dizzyfeast

My coworker got me one like that from the “as seen on TV” section of Walmart.

I still have yet to find an actual use for it, it even sucks at opening boxes/bags.

The “eternal blade” is because of how it’s serrated you literally can’t sharpen them even if you wanted to.

  28. LeonieBee

Wouldn’t the copper plating (if it has any) react with things like that are acidic like lemons or tomatoes and leech into the food?

  29. She meant as a gift to take home, right? They work great for cheese.

  30. nowhereiswater

When you are gifted a brand spanking new knife in a slick plastic package with a logo with two stick man holding hands walking like an Egyptian.  It might actually be good.

  31. Loulibird

Eww. I’ve worked in home care (elderly in-home care) for years and cook for them and have to use their knives. So many bad knives. People who buy new knives and never throw out the old ones. People who have no sharpeners in the house. People who have a drawer with dozens of old knives just chillin and bumping into each other. Ugg cringe. They almost always have the pampered chef one with the case that sharpens it, and it’s usually the best one in the house.
