Hey everyone I’m new here and just wanted to share my experience from last year as maybe it can help someone.
Last year I purchased a black krim plant from Home Depot. I was excited and surprised to see the heirloom there and despite having all my tomatoes already planted impulsively I bought it. Being a new gardener I was unaware of late blight and what it looks like.
Later that summer after a very wet rainy season and with poor pruning my overgrown bushy plants all become infected with late blight. I lost 90% of my crop except for mountain magic which survived. I was devastated. I looked back on the photo I had taken of the black krim plant and noticed lesions on the leaves and remembered seeing them on multiple plants at Home Depot. I did some research and heard of a similar situations that occurred in the past. Needless to say I won’t be buying tomato seedlings from there again and will only be starting on my own from seed.
