Been knocked loose for a month or two. Someone finally took it out when stocking the freezer in front of it. So now its like this.

Just screw that receptacle back in and use a piece of tape on the housing if necesarry they’re not electricians

  2. jackatman

Health inspector will probably miss it but fire inspector will Shut. You. Down.

  3. kunymonster4

You should probably call an electrician. And by probably, I mean immediately.

  4. Dejectednebula

I’m just a cook in a pizza shop guys. The owner knows. Says he will handle it eventually.

  5. zazasfoot

Health inspector isn’t going to say shit about that.  It’s way out of that public servants pay grade.  Fire on the other hand, they might want to have a chat with the owner.

  6. Chazegg88

Not really there problem but you should get chef or whoever is in charge that that shit fixed before you have a terrible accident. If this doesn’t get fixed you should start looking for a new gig cos these guys don’t respect their crew

  7. breadboy_42069

As long as it’s properly labeled and dated you should be fine.

  8. SockSock81219

Unless you’re using it to cook sausages (and, uh, you maybe could) it’s not health-related. But it does give a rather alarming impression. Like, if they’re doing THIS, what else are they cutting corners on? Just screw the housing back in, don’t put them on high alert.

Is this one of those electrical outlets with the water cover case thing? I bet you get dinged specifically for the thing not being shut knowing health inspectors lol

speaking of, have there ever been any health inspector appearances in this sub?

I’d be more worried about the fire inspector

  11. B1ueRogue

I had a regional manager come to my site and I ahd recently got electrocuted by unearthed wires which resulted in me collapsing

His answer ..shocking..but I bet you felt electrified to do service

  12. ChefAsstastic

If you had my inspector, they’d lose their shit

  13. Unpressed_panini

Let me guess. You have an owner that thinks theyre a handyman but are terrible at it.

  14. Derek420HighBisCis

Will the health inspector care? If worry what the fire marshal and OSHA say!

  15. braydon125

You could have fixed it in the time it took to post this, just saying.

  16. MJCox0415

Health inspector? At most its core food code violation, physical facilities in disrepair. Fire code however…

  17. meatsntreats

My inspectors could write this up as physical facilities not being maintained as this provides an area of ingress for pests.

  18. TurboDelight

Health inspector is there to make sure you don’t poison anyone, not to stop you guys from burning the place down

  19. LargeArugula6262

Why the fuck would someone put an outdoor/water proof cover over the indoor outlet??

  20. cantbeseriouschef

I hate those damn water covers. They break so easy. In like a year we broke ours like 5 times bc it was shit a** plastic. They should just install a waterproof conduit box

  21. cheffartsonurfood

Nah. Not their department. That black mold growing on the floor however …

  22. KneeDeepInTheMud

Just a bit of spilled water, and you’ll be unhappy if you’re lucky.

    That needs a fix, pronto!

  23. hauntedbyfarts

At least just use a Philips screwdriver to get that top half of the outlet back into the junction box. Unplug stuff first. Looks like it might be cracked but I bet it’ll sit back in there. Can try a bigger screw if not. Will need a new cover but you can slap a standard plate on there until you find one

  24. CoughyFilter

Definitely won’t like the thick filth on the floor from where you are too lazy to move a cord when you mop once a month

  25. Health inspector won’t care; Fire Marshal or OSHA however…

  26. scoopdunks

If you know what breaker that is, this is like a 5 minute fix. If you don’t this is like a 120 dollar electrician call to ensure no one gets hurt and the place doesn’t burn down. But to each there own I guess.

  27. Charirner

you need 2 screws and some silicone to fix that

  28. Why don’t YOU fix it? In the time that it’s taken to post this on Reddit you could have probably repaired the problem.
