Noor was a wonderful, exciting, intentional meal that has very few comparables. The attention to storytelling through food and the direct connection to the region you are in was stunning. Most dishes were exceptional, some a bit more challenging to the palete (grapefruit and pickled shrimp mainly). The puchero, pictured first, was possibly the best dish I’ve had this entire dining year.

Service and the staff were beyond exceptional – I had the pleasure of enjoying this meal with my two sons (both under 12) and my wife and the kindness and accomodation were truly wonderful. Chef Morales invited us all back to meet the kitchen staff and to explore their workspace.

While in general Noor may not have served the end to end best tasting meal of my life, the sum of the experience and quality of service in general were simply spectacular and I highly recommend a meal there, particularly at this price point ($300 USD including pairing). The pairing as well was thoughtful, mixed various producers and types but still focused on the region.

The pictures look like AI tried to create images of Michelin 3 star food. There’s something about the plating that just seems off to the extent I find it mildly disconcerting.

Loved Noor – great pictures and review. I think there are very few restaurants with as strong a sense of itself as Noor.

Out of curiosity as a history nerd – what era of Spanish history are they at now? When I was there the focus was on Andalucia post-reconquista, which still had residual cultural ties to the Maghreb.

  4. What a feast for the senses! Everything looks so very gorgeous, thanks for the review.

  5. Super unique restaurant! Can’t say I’ve had any really similar which is awesome — loved my meal at Noor they’re doing some special stuff
