Only a minor cut on my hand, and the burns on my arms and chest are fairly minor. I’d say this was getting lucky, but it sure don’t feel good haha.

Glad you’re okay. That could have been rough as shit

By hot sauce: temperature hot or spicy hot

Hopefully you have now learned about vacuum seals and the risks they pose. All that heat needs its energy transferred somewhere, and next time it won’t be transferred all over your kitchen

Oof.. there’s going to be slightly orange marks of shame *everywhere* for you to remember this.

How much got on the ceiling?

“Unfortunately, ladies and gentlemen, due to unforseen circumstances, the kitchen is closed indefinitely”

  9. Had a similar thing happen to me blending down a sauce without leaving the top feed open. Burst all over me, burns on arms and neck. Hope u are alright.

  10. 3 years from now, people still are going to find spots of hot sauce on something.

  11. You don’t want to put boiling hot liquids into a canning jar unless the jar is heated up. But you shouldn’t have to do this as the jars should be heated up after canning to make them safe. You’re still pressure cooking/water bathing them I hope.

You did it wrong. This shouldn’t happen in the canning process.

By hot sauce, do you mean hot sauce, or a jar of sauce that was hot from the canning process? Because if it’s the later, you found the unfodtunate spot on the sheet tray/metal counter that was cold enough to react to the hot glass. In which case, RIP, been there.

    Are you wearing shorts?! LOL

Ima use this as an example to show my cooks why you cant wear shorts.

Heat the jars with warm water before canning to avoid thermal shock. I’m surprised no one has said this yet.

And the first thing you do is grab your phone and start recording?
