Regular Costco pre-seasoned Tri-tip
8.2 pounds
Smoked at 225 on super smoke
Topped with butter and wrapped at 150 degrees

Pulled off at 200 unwrapped

Back on smoker for 8 minutes for bark to harden up a bit.

Came out great, juicy and very tender!

    I’ve never done a brisket style tri-tip……I’m intrigued to try. How long did it take? Did you up the temperature when you wrapped?

    200 internal temp for a tri tip? You are turning that into beef jerky. It’s not a brisket

    If you want to save yourself some time and get a great tritip meal do a reverse sear. Smoke til rare or med rare and then finish it in the grill. My go to when I want some beef and don’t have time for a long smoke.
