After seeing the whiskey-caramel Gouda at my local kaaskraam this week, I thought I had seen everything.

This looks weird. Imagine a grilled cheese with this.

Could be good on a roast beef sandwich
UnusualSeries5770
I bought a horseradish cheddar a while ago out of curiosity, that shit was NOT good, I love cheese, I love horseradish and wasabi, but that was an unholy combo and I doubt that wasabi cheese is good
I would pass on this one

I feel like this could make a good fondue low key?

Mustard and cheese is ok. Sure it would probably be better with some beef between but I’d give it a go.

I’m dying at the “energy” label. We’re just npc’s. Lol

Ashgrove (a Tasmanian cheese company you can increasingly find on the Australian mainland) does a nice wasabi cheddar.

Japanese style cheese? Is cheese common in Japanese cuisine or are they just saying that bc wasabi😂😅
moon-mochi99
Sounds really good! maybe a novelty buy?

A good Wasabi cheese is awesome

While I was in Japan, I found these little smoked gouda cheese niblets flavored with wasabi and they were AMAZING. They were individually wrapped and looked like tootsie rolls and I ate an inordinate amount of them. If you like other spicy cheeses you might like it!

Honestly, this does not sound even the tiniest bit appetizing to me. Thinking back to the old days at Shula’s Steakhouse…. the prime rib sandwich was deadly good (thin sliced French dip) with the horseradish sauce… but they melted provolone all over it and it was not a good mix

Wait, ya’ll are hating on horseradish cheese????

Holy shit I’m all for it.

I bought some mozzerella pearls with Wasabi flavor. They were delicious added to a kani salad. I imagine this wound be similar.

Wasabi and horseradish have been used by Yancey’s for some time in their cheeses.

I definitely want to try this. Which country Lidl – UK?? Any special week? Normal cheese section?
Cheese with wasabi sounds perfectly valid and an interesting combo!
ETA – haha the comments are all strongly advising against – I will consider myself forewarned and have no expectations! It’s on me.

What are you on about? Never heard of Harlech? Same thing basically and lovely.

That cheese is delicious!! Goes great with apple slices or quince. Also used it for crusted salmon bake that was stuffed with imitation crab 🤌🏾. I blended it with the breadcrumbs for the topping. Thinking of using it with pork next! Think it will also add an interesting addition to a poke bowl, if shredded or shaved.
