Hello~
I got a Fat Daddio's broadcloth pastry bag yesterday and when I tried to use it I noticed the icing was coming out through the cloth. Is there a specific way of using these?

Random picture of a cookie I made with cherry flavored icing.

  1. I’ve never used a cloth bag but I do use reusable bags a lot (not sure what they are made from). In order to keep them clean and reuse without washing icing out of them I use plastic wrap for the icing and put it in the reusable bag.

This is hard to describe without pictures but basically you tear off a smallish square of plastic wrap. Put the icing in the middle of the square and then fold over the square and start rolling the icing up. You will then pick it up and twist the two ends tightly. Insert one of the ends into the bag and pull the end through the bag opening. Snip the twisted end off to decorate.

This allows you to keep a clean bag. If there is extra icing once you are done decorating you can put it in a container and toss the plastic wrap.

    I’m sorry I can’t attach a pic/video but I’m happy to message you if you’d like.
