  1. I have a crockpot recipe for French dip sandwiches using chuck roast that your boys may like. It is easy and very good. I got it off the internet. I’m joining the pantry challenge this year and looking forward to it.

  2. We are doing a low spend Jan. Ralph is helping me do an inventory of the downstairs vhest freezer today.
If something we use all the time is on a really great sale. We will get some for future. We will get fresh items as needed, milk, bread, produce.
I was thinking of checking out the holiday clearance at Walmart today, but not doing. However, on Jan. 2nd i will ve checking out CVS andi think Riteaid for clearance Hanukkah paper. as I am out.

  3. I’m not doing a pantry challenge per se, but I am prioritizing using items that have been in my pantry and freezer for over a year. Any suggestions for frozen fruit besides jam? Happy New Year, wishing you and yours a blessed year filled with joy and happiness.

  4. Love this challenge, I’m kind of a food hoarder, I like to look at my canned goods. Lol you have challenged me to overcome this! Do you have a recommendation for a good all round cookbook for cooking from scratch, we are on a health journey this year! Thank you for all this wonderful content, I appreciate your hard work!

  5. I’m trying this for the first time. I moved into my house almost two years ago, so my garden space was new last year; and the outcome was pretty dismal. I have lots of jam and beans that I’ve canned, but my freezer is full of meat! Im allowing myself to buy fresh produce and dairy. Yesterday I canned vegetable soup. I actively think that I might actually be able to do two months!

  6. We love rice pilaf; I make my own but I bought the Near East brand from Sam’s club because it was cheap and wanted to try it. After trying the first box I missed the real orzo so I added a 1/2 cup of orzo and did that with the rest of the boxes. I still like making my own and like to throw in carrots, celery or whatever vegs I have and throw some baby spinach on it when I eat it if I remember. Your freezers are so organized—I don’t eat meat but my husband does a few times a week so my freezer doesn’t have much in it.

  7. I’m sure you’re going to be successful. Completely understand talking with adults after being with toddlers

  8. You habe so much food to choose from! Y’all will be eating very well 🙂 mine will be mainly using what I have and onky buying what I must to make a meal, we were given things during all that’s happened this year and not necessarily the best so the trick for me is using what we have in a mindful way to be healthy and loose weight

  9. We do birthday meals too! I make whatever I'm asked to make. For one of my kids their favorite meal is corned beef and cabbage, so that's what we do.

  10. You have a lot of food! I thought my freezer & cupboards were full until I saw yours! I’m looking forward to seeing what you create so I can copy! 😊
Best wishes for a healthy and happy 2025! Happy New Year!

  11. There are only two of us, and I buy way too much food. The freezers and the cupboards are overflowing, so I believe this will be a great challenge for me this month. I'm excited to try it!

  12. Great video. Looking forward to using up pantry and freezer items bought. Thank you all for doing this and sharing. Doug and yourself r looking good. Happy New Year and great months of great meals and saving money. Nina❤

  13. I miss seeing you on your channel. Been a little behind the 8 Ball but want to get back on the wagon now it’s the beginning of a new year! How is Doug? Happy New Year. 🎉

  14. Well stocked but i thinks sandy can feed a family of 4 with all her freezer food I would be nice to see what's left after the challenge is done

  15. I’m definitely going to jump on this challenge! Just wondering if you always use everything up before the expiration date? Thanks Joan!

  16. I only have a side by side refrigerator in my kitchen along with a very small pantry. It’s only my husband and me so that makes it easier to manage and why a smaller inventory kind of makes sense. But, I still think you would have heart failure if you saw the low inventory in my home!! Even with the low inventory, I like to stretch the times between grocery shopping as a way to create an ongoing pantry challenge. I can always find ways to make a few extra meals with the ingredients I have on hand. I think it’s fun to do. I can’t imagine you having any problems with your pantry challenge with all the food you have on hand. That’s amazing! Have fun with it. Can’t wait to see the video at the end showing what’s left!!

  17. I cook for two people except when I watch my granddaughter. I would never be able to live out of my pantry for a whole month. What food I have, I store in the kitchen. But I do have a freezer in the garage that is overflowing, so maybe I can do a freezer challenge and use up some of the stuff in my spare freezer! Happy New Year and good luck on your challenge!

  18. I so agree that what we “do” does not determine our salvation but it is the grace of God. I did the pantry challenge either last year or the year before (with my own rules) and it really helped to get rid of all the frozen foods in our fridge freezer.

  19. My husband was from Gloucester-we had the greatest cheese steaks when we went to visit family. Good luck on the challenge-I spent less than $30 last year for Jan and Feb-only bought produce.

  20. Looks like a good plan….and thanks for sharing your pantry. I have toyed with going to a monthly menu…..typically i have done a two week menu. While I'm unemployed I have decided to try weekly. We shall see how that goes!

  21. we live in a small condo so I just have my main fridge and one small chest freezer. Not a lot of storage but going to try to eat what we have and then refresh freezer.

  22. Leisa at Suttons Daze has videos about canning the Mississippi roast bases that I have canned and eaten and they are delicious.

  23. we take the ground turkey and mix it with jerky spices. They have a jerky gun and you load it up and squeeze and it makes thin jerky, and put in dehydrator, mine love turkey jerky. nice video
