Ciel dining is a recently opened restaurant by chef. He was mostly trained in French cuisine and had worked throughout Europe and Asia.
The restaurant is located in district 2 in a fully newly build property that has the feel if a modern house from the outside. Then main seating area is a wide counter around the kitchen. Upstairs are a number if tables in a separate room. The restaurant has a modern warm feel to it and chairs are comfortable and easy to enjoy the dinner on.
When it comes to the food, it an interesting and pleasant blend of traditional techniques and preparations combined with Asian inspired ingredients and dishes. The ingredients are sourced from Vietnam with some exceptions (like scallops from Hokido and pigeon from France).
The food was excellent. Well prepared and seasoned and on point on flavor. Outstanding dished were the interpretation of the Hong Kong classic of fish maw and custard, the abalone rice and the dessert (!) of sweet potato, honey and black truffle.
Total cost for 2,including a bottle of Drappier champagne and 2 glasses of Californian Cabernet and 2 bottles it San Pellegrino were almost 11 million vnd (approx 430 USD)
This restaurant comes high recommended in my view and is the best fine dining we had in HCMC by a stretch (much better than 1* Anan Saigon).

This looks very nice! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the review! I’ve been following the head chef since his Monkey Gallery days and I’ve been wanting to visit since the restaurant opened, but too occupied with work and travel. Hopefully I can go here soon 🤞
