You should, almost always, start with the Original to establish baseline. Then compare the spicy version. Comment back with your reviews!

Slap yo momma is a great baseline seasoning for everything if you don’t know how to mix yourself. Giving a 👍 for helping bring this classic to the forefront again.

  3. Both are good. Different enough that they both have a place in my kitchen.

  4. Slap is amazing. I use it regularly for just about everything.

  5. Slap yo mama is great. When I cook for myself I grab the spicy but for other friends they prefer regular cause spicy is too spicy for them.

Slap ya momma is definitely my favorite Cajun seasoning. The other I haven’t tried.

Slap ya mama imo is just too salty and even the “spicy” version is pretty week IMO. Haven’t tried the other looks good.

Slap ya mama is amazing, you gotta get the Zatarins blackened seasoning!

  9. The yellow Slap Ya Mama is way too salty for me. The red one is much better.

Damn! Those are awesome! Especially the slap yo mama. Put it on every.

  11. The hot version of Slap is way better in my opinion, and it’s still not very spicy.

I must have bought a weird one if these because mine was way too salty.

  13. Buy huge jars of paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder, and keep smaller sizes for cumin, and ground/crushed oregano and youve got your base for almost anything. Theyre almost as important as salt to seasoning. Feel free to be a purist and rely on fresh garlic but for many things, like rubs and high temp cooking, powder is just easier and totally ok. I dont know specifically whats in these brands but most of the time they’re primarily paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black/white pepper, and oregano. Sometimes they have something citric acid or sugar and i reckon these do as well

Neither are spicy, it’s just salt and pepper

I’m a fan of Fire Dust. It’s a spicy blend with zero sodium. Most spice blends are too salty.
