Just wondering whether anyone here has watched his budget challenges. He lives in the UK, so prices on food are vastly different than they are here in Canada for me, but I still enjoy watching them – specifically the sort of things he creates out of a very limited supply of ingredients. He's by no means intending any of the meals he cooks to be a permanent way to live (I still cringe at the thought of one of his "breakfasts" in one of his series…), and he regularly says he doesn't pretend to be poor, it's about being creative – and it's always fun to see what he comes up with. Just in case anyone wants to give those a look – I find sometimes I do get ideas from what he makes that I have on hand (and the doggo, Eva, is adorable)!

Yes! I just watched the 2 videos he posted today. I very much appreciate that he seems to have a regular practice of saving scraps for making soup and treats all of his ingredients with respect. He’s definitely creative. I also like that he forages for plants and mushrooms (not in January) and grows some veggies, too.

His English food prices are so much lower than here in the US, too. Some of it is differences in tastes, like the parsnips he bought for what, 55p for half a kilo? A pound of parsnips here is probably $4. I love parsnips but I think English people eat them a lot more regularly than we do, so they’re more widely available and cheaper. Same with leeks. But 33p for a can of kidney beans? I just bought canned kidney beans today and they were $1 apiece but you had to buy 5. And that was a cheap brand, on sale.

Eva is cute but that yapping drives me nuts. There are many reasons I have cats instead of dogs and that’s one of them!

He’s great, I’ve been following him for a while. Very creative and resourceful, even if some of the stuff he makes occasionally goes a little off the rails. I appreciate that he’s honest about it and usually does a little recap of what worked and what didn’t, what he would have changed, etc. and sometimes will take an idea that almost worked and redo it better in a future video.
