  1. New house, trying to get my stuff set up but at a loss for weeks on where.

Black is the back of the house, and in light grey is the soffit overhang.

Here is a real photo of the space. Kitchen is the first two windows near the patio

If it isn’t rough terrain or weather, I would build a small 6×8 patio in the yard and put it there. That way you aren’t even attempting to mess with anything regarding your house, or shed, or furnace exhaust or anything of the like.

  3. On the patio close to the house so I don’t have to walk far

  4. I think the grill is in a pretty good place right now, especially if you ever want to use it in the winter. The nice part about gas is you never have to worry about running out. However it can really limit where you can put the grill also. Additionally propane actually burns hotter than gas, so you can get a higher heat from propane. I’ve seen grill gas to propane conversion kits online anywhere from 20-60 which is cheap compared to most grill parts.

I’d be much more concerned about this setup if it was charcoal. Because embers can sometimes jump out of the starting chimney, and you just want a bit more space from any buildings. Also there is much more smoke using charcoal as well.

Im ignorant of what the green stars mean. Is this accepted grill symbology?

Might depend on typical wind direction during grilling season.
