Ate this on Christmas Eve! (just recently found this subreddit!) Note: I got 2 butternut squash soups and the pasta, both extras for free (i found an unknown THING in my first soup 😭)
From left to right:
Butternut squash soup w/cream, nuts, and razor clams
Eggs on eggs on eggs aka caviar, an egg yolk, and some kind of egg cream w/pickled onions, dill, and a sourdough stick
Black truffles shaved over spinach pasta with castelrosso (the best omg)
Lamb steak and mushrooms I forgot the name of with a sauce that had chili in it (it was creamy)
Key lime parfait with coconut and chiffon
all and all, a solid 8/10 (-2 for whatever the hell that was in my soup)

How could they serve it like that ?
I do like the use of all white plates
I don’t think I’m a fine dining snob at all but some of these dishes look sloppy for a 2 star, particularly 1 and 3. I’m sure it tasted great but when my local pub takes care to wipe crumbs from a plate I would expect the modern to as well.
I was there in September and everything was far more elegant looking.
Cost? Wine?
Heading there in a week so this is really helpful. Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you get any wine?
The Modern was my first Michelin star experience! I loved it and would totally go back!
I agree with the other commenter some of your dishes look sloppy. Mine did not look like that. I wonder what happened.
From reading your comments you sound so sweet and understanding. Breath of fresh air compared to some people on this sub who trash a restaurant if god forbid a napkin isn’t folded perfectly. With that said, I hope you get to experience many more (and better!) fine dining establishments in the future. Some of these plates look a little grim
