Increase is 2-10 cents depending on the pod size. Crazy I only knew about it from here, I never got the email. & also, the new prices only reflect the cart, pods aren’t actually listed the new price yet when browsing them.

  1. One of the reasons we’re ditching Nespresso and going to Keurig after our last batch.

We just got a new Keurig at work and it’s much more customizable with temperatures and cup sizes/strengths. Plus the pod choices are a lot better than I remember- Bustelo!!

.50 a Keurig pod vs this?

It’s a huge failure by Nespresso to not notify all customers of this. I’ve been a customer since 2018 and I also learned of this from that one post on the subreddit.

This is especially scummy timing considering the number of machines that were just gifted for Christmas.

Nespresso was already making bank on these capsules if you look at the price per gram of ground coffee and compare it to ground or whole bean coffee purchased anywhere else.

They could’ve absorbed any alleged increase in supply costs, but instead they passed that onto the consumer. I also strongly doubt their cost per sleeve increased by $1.15, so there’s likely additional profit baked into that new price.

Ugh. I almost ordered yesterday too but wanted to get my boyfriend’s picks today. I just got my machine and buying the pods is really putting me off

  4. cherry_lime2

I can’t believe how expensive pods are for you guys! Your $11.50 pods are only £5.70 in UK! So $7.

  5. creingalain

Are you from the US? I don’t think we get the free sample pack here in Canada. And here the price increase will take effect on Feb 5 based on their email.

  6. I bought right before the increase but today, I went back to using my Bunn Heat & Brew drip coffeemaker, and I do grind my own beans as I’ve been doing for the last zillion years, beans I purchase online. I’m wondering if their prices went up, too. Didn’t check. Just not as convenient as the Nespresso to clean.

  7. Suspicious_Group_507

At least Nespresso informed people, sometimes prices just go up. I’m sure Starbucks will be increasing prices $1 per cup, so a few cents – while it’s not good for our wallets – is not too shabby.

  8. Happy-Raisin8377

Fuck!! I had a bunch in my cart too 😭 thanks for letting us know!

  9. ibroughttacos

I got an OL machine for Christmas because I didn’t want to pay for vertuo pods anymore. I love them, but my husband and I both drink 2 coffees a day and couldn’t work it in to our budget anymore. It’s a shame all of these companies try to justify increasing costs when they’re just using it as an excuse to make more money.

  10. Reasonable-Net5120

Yeah super bummer, I have checked my email multiple times after hearing it on here about the price change but I never got that email

  11. Doxle_lover

I made sure to stock up before the increase, but it’s not too bad.

  12. Appropriate-Sun834

I never got my sample pack when I ordered last week even tho it was marked in my cart, lame

  13. NYMeridian3

Whew. I bought 4 sleeves of Sunny almond and 3 sleeves of double dolce when I heard about this a few days ago. Real bummer though.

  14. MontgomeryEagle

The cheapest OL went up 5 cents to 85. More reason to go 3rd party

  15. meyerlem0n

I added a bunch of things to my cart last night and forgot to check out (ADHD baby!) 😭

  16. I have an auto-replenish order set up and did get an email from them about price increases coming on Jan. 8. So I put in a larger order on the day I got the email. We drink the double espresso and it appears to have gone up 10 cents per pod. So a full $1 per box! Pretty wild increase. I bought 14 extra boxes.

I’m torn about suspending my autoreplenish because I think they’ll jack the price again soonish because the price of coffee is skyrocketing.

  17. ireactivated

Upsetting, but still miles cheaper and tastier than my other alternatives

  18. Olderandwiser1

Good sale on Woot. 20% off of 6 sleeves of many varieties and free shipping if you are an Amazon Prime member.

  19. Relevant_Expert_6775

At least the Sample Pack still free

  20. magandpeg

I’m so tired of this. This is not even the first company that has price increase and we are only 8 days into the year. Prices only go up and never go down. How can we afford this??

  21. MoonbeamLotus

Prices increase every year for everything, why is this a surprise? Nespresso is supposed to be a luxury brand so that adds another layer of expense. If it doesn’t fit within your budget, make a change.

  22. Cheap_Room_4748

I ordered on Jan 4 because of this sub!! Checked today and the OL pods I buy are indeed $0.10 more expensive per pod now. I love the convenience and will keep with it until the machine breaks, but I might have to consider alternatives after that depending on what prices get up to 🙁

  23. dragonfly931

Anyone know how much they are in Canada? i’m going for a work trip in a couple weeks!

  24. Environmental_Law767

when I got my first Nespresso, capsules were $0.35-0.49. They’ll go up again. Nespresso likes to make lots of money, no denying that. But consider the global picture: coffee harvests are actually down this year and many of the plantations doing business with Nespresso are striving to build schools and provide livable wages and health care for their workers.

  25. Dr_Boner_PhD

This is at least the second big price hike since I got my nespresso in 2022. My last pod order is my last, we’re defecting to the ninja cafe luxe and it will pay for itself in less than a year of pods.

  26. chrisssie45

If you’re an ice leggero drinker, you can buy them from Nespresso on Amazon for $1.15 still (you just have to buy 5 sleeves… no issue for me, I drink at least one a day 😬).

Edit: It’s gone up now on Amazon too.

  27. the_GOAT_44

Why are people even remotely shocked by this? Price increases are happening everywhere and we are already supporting arguably the most scummy corporation.

  28. ToadFlax0

Personally I could go without all the random “free” gifts in order to keep prices down. Seems like there are other places they can cut costs.

  29. Seraphelia

Gosh your pods are so expensive. The double espresso pods here in Japan are ¥124.2 per pod which is about $0.78. I did receive an email from Nespresso Japan about the price increases though, I think it was back in December.

  30. PippiVillekulla

I just purchased my machine the other day. Guess that decaf sleeve I added on top of my order was my one and only purchase at the lower price. I didn’t even add the hazelnut sleeve I wanted to try 🙁

  31. I’m not sure why this is such a huge deal–2 to 5 cents per pod from what I’m seeing? If that’s making or breaking people, I think there are larger issues at play than the coffee budget. Still way more economical than starbucks or most other options

  32. I didn’t have enough money yet to purchase before the increase 😭 Also ofc this happens right when I finally get a machine..

I was setting an order up bc I know I’ll need the descaling kit…

  33. AlarmingInfoHUH

Was aware but they trained me to only order when there are bonus offers, which there were none last night

  34. thelittleluca

I did not get any email on this.

I bought my machine earlier this year and drink 1-2 pods daily… am still trying new flavors.

Looks like I’ll switch back to coffee and keep the Nespresso as a treat. 😔

  35. Desert_Apollo

Nespresso is lame that they only have 1 main decaf coffee tbh. They need to kick up a notch.
