The setting was really intimate and relaxed thanks to the really great team that hosted what felt like an extravagant dinner party more than dinner at a restaurant (helped by the fact there was just five of us all seated at the bar in front of the open kitchen). The cocktail pairings were exceptional and beside the service the highlight of this special night.
Most courses were so good except the disappointing main of wagyu tteok-galbi and mushroom rice. I was baffled that I was served burger patties and rice for the main course at a two Michelin star restaurant, I don't care how expensive the beef is. It was also a really bland and boring dish that was a chore to eat but it didn't ruin the night as everything else was top notch.

What were some of your favorite dishes from that meal and why?
The truffles didn’t save the tteok galbi dish for you?
For me personally, I think tteok galbi is the most pointless dish in all of Korean cuisine.
