This weekend I made 3 flavors of discard crackers (Italian seeded, furikake/soy with sesame, and lightly seeded curry). I'm going crackers (ha) and want to make more! What are your favorite flavor combinations and things to do with your discard?

Second photo includes my poorly wrapped sandwich loaf, and cheddar/monterey jack loaf to go along with tomato soup tonight. How do you STOP making things when the starter is clicking???

Wow! Those look and sound so good! 🤤 I also just toss my discard but now I have to try this!! Thanks!

Do you have the cracker recipe? I’d love to try, I’ve done a couple that have never turned out as nice as yours look for me.

  3. New to sourdough but for those saying you don’t discard how? Everything I read was every time you feed you discard. Is this how true?

  4. So far, I’ve tried crackers, pancakes, crumpets, chocolate chip cookies and brownies. These turned out better than my loaves 🙈😂

Today I’m making cherry pop tarts! The dough has been sitting/fermenting in the fridge overnight. Excited.

  6. Waffles, crackers, double chocolate muffins, cranberry orange muffins.

But I have to make discard now because I use the “scrapings” feeding method and don’t really have discard.

This week I’ve made: rosemary crackers, flatbreads, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, and today I am making either peanut butter cookies or blondies. Undecided at the moment!

Scones! Great with coffee in the morning.

  9. I make crackers, too! Today I’m trying crumpets. Are your crackers staying crispy?

I make pancakes or waffles with it when I’m ready to refresh my starter.
