Casa Jalisco, a locally owned and family-operated restaurant, recently opened in northwest Omaha.
The menu features the cuisine of Jalisco, a city near Guadalajara in western Mexico.
Specialties include quesabirria tacos; camarones Cancun, shrimp and mushrooms in a creamy chipotle sauce; and Molcajete, chicken, steak, carnitas, shrimp and cacti cooked and served in a hot volcano lava rock and covered with cheese and ranchero sauce.
The lunch menu features three egg dishes (also served at dinner), a burrito, taco salads and other items.
The dinner menu has appetizers such as guacamole, fajita nachos and street fries; five quesadillas; soups and salads; chimichangas; burritos, enchiladas and a variety of chicken, steak, seafood and pork dishes, among many other items.
Desserts include sopapillas, a cheesecake chimichanga, churros, flan, tres leches and fried ice cream.

You can order online for takeout or eat in the dining room.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The restaurant is at 14242 Fort St., Suite 109, in Standing Bear Plaza.
So given all the elements you must consider, it’s also no piece of cake to choose the perfect apple pie from several contenders.
