  1. Very pretty color of ruby with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.

    Pretty nose with nice complexity.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and complex.

Showing red and black fruits with wood, light licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.

Nice finish with soft tannins and cherries.

This 6 year old Zinfandel based Red blend from Sonoma County is drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Elegant and fruit forward. Nicely balanced and soft with a nice mouthfeel. Showing nice complexity at this point.

Wine Enthusiasts 90 points. Wine Spectator 93 points.

Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine.

A blend of 73% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 10% Carignan, 3% Mataro and 1% Alicante Bouschet.

    14.5% alcohol by volume.

    91 points.

    $35.

I’m new to wine and live in north California. I like ridge but keep hearing it’s good but overpriced for the quality. Is that true?

  3. I brought this to serve my parents at Christmas, as they’re opposed to anything Old World or pricey. Mom said it was the best wine she had in a while and dad may have enjoyed it too much. Have bought before. Will buy again.

I love this wine so much. I don’t have a lot of space to store wine and usually try new things more often than buying multiples of the same bottle, but this is one of the few I’ve bought multiple of.

  5. Interesting. I never noticed this was only 73% so it is in fact a “blend” and not a Zinfandel. TIL

This is one of my new favorites! Had a bottle with Christmas dinner.

I visited Ridge when I was in Sonoma last summer. It was my first time trying their wines and I’m a fan for life! I love Ridge!
