Hello,

I don't usually save seeds cause I'm bad at it but I have saved some chocolate habanero seeds. I did not expect them to germinate as they're really not in great condition.

Alot have germinated but now I'm thinking is it even a good idea to plant them.

Alot of seeds are black in the centre or are browning in parts, growing some mould ect. The plants the seeds came from did have a fungal disease that killed the plants but I'm unsure whether that'd spread through seed.

Should I plant these? Or will it just cause disease issues? They don't look healthy

Sprouting means they’re viable! Don’t worry about the color. It is just a rule of thumb for saving them

They might have the same disease, so I would plant them separately

Could just be a little mold from the wet paper napkin.
If you want peppers plant the seeds.

What sort of fungal illness was the demise of the plant they came from?

You can sterilize seeds by soaking them in 3% hydrogen peroxide, the most common H2O2 found in pharmacies, for a couple of minutes and rinsing them. MIght reduce germination though and probably would kill sprouted seeds
