Welcome back to Marie’s Kitchen! I’m so glad you’re here! Today we’re making Air Fryer Salmon Cakes (also called Salmon Croquettes or Salmon Patties) with a homemade remoulade sauce for dipping. Yum! 🍋

In this video, you’ll learn my favorite HACK for making the salmon cakes hold together while cooking, without adding a lot of extra breading. Then I’ll walk you through how to cook the patties in the air fryer for a quick-and-easy, high-protein lunch or dinner. We’ll also make my NEW recipe for remoulade sauce, and I’ll provide several make-ahead tips (including freezer options).

If you don’t have an air fryer, don’t worry! You can also make these in the oven or in a pan on the stove top. Instructions for the oven is provided below.

Thanks so much for watching! Let me know if you try them!

Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe 🥰 Also, if you like a video or recipe, please share my channel with friends! This community has been such a gift and I’m hoping we can grow to 200k by February! Is that crazy??

Easy Salmon Cakes

Remoulade Sauce

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup Panko
1/4 cup grated Parmesan (not shredded)
1/4 cup Hellmann’s mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon minced green onion
1-2 Tablespoons minced fresh dill
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
1 egg
Zest of 1 small lemon
1 Tablespoon whole grain mustard
1 lb. salmon, cooked and flaked

INSTRUCTIONS
Place the first nine ingredients (Panko, Parmesan, mayo, green onion, dill, Old Bay, egg, lemon zest and mustard) in a medium bowl. Stir to combine. Add salmon and stir gently to combine.

Using your hands, shape the salmon mixture into 12-15 small patties and set them on a pan or plate. Place the patties in the freezer for about 30 minutes. (Freezing the salmon cakes will help them hold together while cooking.)

AIR FRYER METHOD: Preheat the air fryer at 400F for 5 minutes. Place about nine salmon cakes in the air fryer basket, drizzle with olive oil, and cook at 400F for 8-10 minutes, turning once halfway through. Repeat with remaining cakes. Serve with remoulade sauce and enjoy!

OVEN METHOD: Preheat the oven to 425F. Drizzle olive oil on a baking sheet and place sheet in preheated oven. Heat for 3-5 minutes until oil is hot. Using a potholder, remove baking sheet from the oven. Take salmon cakes out of the freezer and place them on the hot pan. Bake for 8 minutes. Using a spatula, flip the salmon cakes and cook the other side for 8-10 more minutes.

  1. I love Salmon cakes! Thank you for this video! I’m glad you didn’t edit out the pepper fail; it makes it more realistic for home cooks 😮😊❤

  2. I love that you showed the accident. I am a home chef, so seeing how you rectify the accidents (that I also experience) helps

  3. I’m so glad that you left the accident on Marie. My name is Maria too and I definitely have kitchen accidents now I know you’re real and not perfect lol.

  4. Yes, please try canned salmon for this dish. That would be a real time saver. Love your cooking demos! The pepper accident was fun & your reaction was priceless!

  5. Happy New Year! Marie, I learn something every time I watch your channel. Using a scoop and lightly tamping down – brilliant. Not to be beaten by the freezing first.
I think every foodie and home chef has had a spill!
I made an authentic Cassoulet in the Fall (6hrs of love) and it was perfect! Until I pulled it out of the oven and proceeded to dump it on the floor! Living on a boat with a cat (and a husband with cancer) meant it all went in the garbage. I will try it again though when he's feeling better!

  6. My husband fishes in Alaska every summer and keeps our freezer full of salmon, and If I’m lucky, halibut. We make large salmon cake batches together and freeze enough for three suppers. We are currently building our forever/smaller home and my new oven will have an air fryer setting. I am excited to try your recipe in the new oven.

  7. You reminded me of myself I got all done with my cleaning vacuuming and mopping my kitchen floor and then I dropped a whole bottle of coconut amino‘s in a glass bottle well making a recipe

  8. Wow, it looked very easy! Im definitely going to make them. I'm also going to subscribe. By the way, I was so focused on your instructions that I was surprised right along with you during your pepper accident! And it was so good that you left it in and did not edit it out. Makes your instructions so real and down to earth. 😃👍💜

  9. I make many of your recipes. Key lime pie is a favorite. Making flan soon and this recipe too! Thank you for letting us see the pepper accident 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  10. Your accident with a black pepper made me think of mine just a couple days ago and I really have no explanation. I was whipping some cream in my stand mixer. I had it done and I lifted the head of the mixer and was removing the whisk, but for some unknown reason, I decided to turn the mixer on all of the residual whipped cream that was on the whisk was now all over me and over my walls… I have no idea why I did that
