Yes, it’s stored gently in a cool dark place, and I will be drinking it soon. The labels appear to be new and it came in a beautiful wooden box.

I’ve never drank anything older than mid 90’s so appreciate anything the community wishes to share.

    Something of a legendary vintage in Piedmont, even if not the best producer. Expect the wine to be rather tertiary in character of course, and enjoy.

    I’m not quite as long in the tooth as you, but it’s close. It’s getting harder each year to get a birth year wine to feel confident in. But a barolo from a legendary vintage, in what looks like near perfect condition? That’s a superb gift in my opinion.

    Decent producer – their entry level wines are always on sale where I am slabs they are enjoyable week day dinner wines to be fair.
