Hey y'all! Happy New Year 🙂

My new year's resolution is to get my stand mixer fix as soon as I can! Does anyone have any recommended places for repair? The closest official place I know is Abesco in Hoffman Estates, but if anyone knows a place a closer by or in the city itself, I would sincerely appreciate it!

I love to make food with my little mixer and would hate to replace it!

Edit/Update: Hey y'all, Thanks for the helpful advice. After doing some thinking and research per some of y'alls recommendation, I decided to try to DIY itself. While it was intimidating, and I had to get creative with some tools, I was able to take my Mixer apart and I found the issue with the mixer.

The main issue was that my mixer was able to turn on, but the "planetary" part of the mixer wasn't spinning. Turns out it was a gear that often wears itself out and its very easily replaceable (I always thought it was a deeper issue at play than just a worn out gear!).

I followed this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeCiivPt7hk

For anyone who is intimidated of repairing their stand mixer, trust me, its not as bad as it sounds and is much more straight forward than even I had thought!

Not sure what your issue is but I changed the grease in mine and it couldn’t have been easier. I’d say look into some YouTube videos.

Depending on what’s wrong a repair fair at Chicago tool library might be helpful!

The amount of times I’ve repaired something in my home due to Google and YouTube is insane. Totally worth looking into. And the feeling of satisfaction is definitely worth it.

Just in case you want an actual place to go instead of suggestions about YouTube 🙄
