I finally secured a bottle of Tignanello from my local ABC Fine Wine and Spirits (always sold out) and immediately indulged 3 weeks later. I brought the 2020 vintage to a lovely dinner at a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant, and the wine captivated me from the first sip. While I’ve had Super Tuscans before, none have compared to this. Having not enjoyed Sassicaia, I approached with some trepidation, but Tignanello was a revelation I needed. It paired magnificently with every meal on the plate, from the appetizer to the gelato, proving itself a valiant wine. Within just 15 minutes of opening, the bottle unleashed tons of aromas; for such a young wine, its potency was astonishing. Each sip revealed notes of vanilla, chocolate, leather, and tobacco. What an exquisite blend! Please please recommend me some other Super Tuscans!

Probably the most consistent wine in terms of top quality across each vintage I’ve ever tried bar none. Adore it. Always keep a minimum of 3 cases of different vintages in the cellar. Give its cousin guado al tasso a chance if you get round to it.

There are levels. And Tignanello is a top tier wine and a great value for price.

Love Tignanello, had many great vintages. It drinks nicely now with some air and will age nicely as well.

Curious why you didn’t enjoy Sassicaia.
