That’s a pretty dang good steak. I personally prefer mine a little closer to rare but you got a great sear so I’d eat.

Nah this is perfect for me. Every one else likes it bloody. A warm pink center man. Love it

Looks like a good crust. Nothing like cast iron to get there. Great job.

I like the crust and how it’s cooked, only thing for me is the band around the edges but it still looks good

The seasoning is burnt on the sear and you have a bit of a grey band.

  6. Fantastic. Anyone else salivating looking at that beauty????

  7. Looks pretty great to me! Great job on that sear as well

Seasonings are burnt. Did you rest the steak? Still looks bloody for how cooked it is..

those little bits of burned garlic and herbs on top are going to be a little bitter but thats a nice sear. I only season with S&P before the sear to avoid burning herbs.

That’s a perfect steak right there.
    I can feel the tenderness.
    The thickness is perfect.
The right amount of medium rare.

The only thing you can really fuck up is the seasoning but i doubt it.

For my tastes this is over and looks really dry. I wouldn’t use this seasoning style for cooking in a cast iron. This needed less seasoning, but a transition to a butter/garlic/thyme finish and a slightly lowered temp after the first flip

Needs basting fluid in the pan, but looks great otherwise!

Was it cooked straight from the fridge
