Chicken lentil curry or chicken daal , This dish satisfies both my cravings for chicken curry and daal ( lentil ) ,combining two of my favorite comfort foods , this is perfect weeknight dinner when you don’t like to cook two three dishes , it’s protein packed delicious and easy to make
* 1/2 cup yellow mung lentil wash and soak for 1/2 hr
* 1 Chicken skin remove and cut into small pieces
* 1 tablespoon red chili powder
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
* 1 teaspoon cumin powder
* 1 teaspoon coriander powder
* 1 teaspoon garam masala
* Oil
* 1 tbsp ginger paste
* 1 tbsp garlic paste
* 2 tomatoes chopped
* 1 big slice onion
* 1 teaspoon cumin seed
* 2 cinnamon stick
* 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Wash the yellow moon paint properly and then soak it in warm water for half an hour and drain and cite
Heat oil in a pan add cumin seed and cinnamon, let it crackle
add sliced onion sauté lt it till the onion is soft
add ginger, garlic paste, chopped tomato sauté it till the tomato is mushy
add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin, grinder powder, and garam masala. Sauté till the oil comes out sauté in very low temperature so the spices don’t burn
add the drain lentil saute 2 min
add at the chicken pieces. Sauté for another five minutes or so till chicken get some color
then add salt water
cover and cooking very low temperature till the chicken and lentil is done the lentil will still have some bite to it That’s the way I like it , I cooked for 25 min
if you like lentil to be cooked all the way, then cook a little bit more
then finish off with chopped cilantro and enjoy it with rice roti or As is
