    I understand the desire to go well done with a steak for a sandwich but you don’t need to. Let it sit for a bit before cutting so it sucks up some of them juices and doesn’t *soak* the bread. Also, you’re doing a disservice to this sandwich by not having a thicker bread with a solid crust or you could use the heels and you’ll find it’s a lot less of a mess and each bite will be better. 

    I bet this tastes good nonetheless.

    Well you did say thin steak. That’s a hard steak to cook regardless of cut. 3 seconds too long and you got no color.
