Anybody else still using a super old school machine?
2014 Sansaire. First thing I ever backed on Kickstarter. I bought two other sous vide circulators in later years, and they both fell victim to their cloud services shutting down.

Haha! Still using the exact same model! Surprised how rock solid it’s been for almost a decade, have not had a reason to upgrade.

I still have my old setup that uses a thermometer that switches on an electrical plug that my crock pot plugs into.
Particular_Paper_179
I have that exact one. Love it to pieces!!!

Not sure if mine would be considered old-school, but I have an Anova with the old school mouse wheel as the temperature control. It does have Bluetooth, which I never use, but it still works like a champ after many hundred of hours of use.

I have the eact same Sansaire. The temperature rotator knob doesn’t work quite right but other than that I’ve had zero issues.
I much prefer Sous Vide cookers that don’t require an app.

I’m still rocking the first anova they released. Still going strong. No firmware updates. No Bluetooth. No cloud.

I have the same one!!! Still going strong.

Original anova kickstarter model here.

My Sansaire started forming cracks all over in the plastic years ago. I think there’s a reason they’re not around anymore. I really miss how quiet it was compared to my new Anova though

I have a Chefman from around 2017, no Bluetooth or app, and it’s still working great.

I use this same one! I love the simplicity.

Heck yeah I am! Great little machine, no issues.

Sold the Sansaire a few years ago (still in great working conditions though). I regularly use a 1st generation Sous Vide Supreme for long cooks where I’m not too concerned about exact temperature (f.e. pulled pork). I still have a PID controller connected to a hot plate that I was using around 2004-2005, haven’t used that in a while though 🙂
I bought a Kitchen Gizmo brand one in 2016, thought I finally killed it last weekend, ordered a new one, and then then old one came back to life and is working fine. Whoops!

Love my sansaire. Use it weekly

My first Sous Vide was 3 coffee heating elements a thermal prove, an industrial PID controller and an aquarium pump. It worked surprisingly well. Back when PolyScience was the only real option and, well, it was too damn expensive. Then I got a Sous vide Supreme oven style cooker which is still my main machine. I’ve had a couple circulators and still have an Anova that’s only a couple years old.
I still have mine as well. Even after acquiring an anova, I can’t bring myself to get rid of the Sansaire, I’ve met and spent some time with one of the cofounders, feels like id be insulting them if I got rid of it haha.

Haha old school machine. Yup I am using the exact same one, previously I had two SWIDs which I loved but unfortunately both broke. I love my Sansaire.
No_Tip8620
I had that model, but the dial on it failed on me after like 7-years.

Yeah, I use a Crux sous vide that I got as a wedding gift in 2015.
Sweaty_Astronaut_583
It pairs well with your land line, lol

I have an Anova from 2016 but I would not call it super old school. 2016 was a couple years ago…right?
Ultimate_Mango
I have one of these and I think three generations of Anova. They all still work. I’ve used as many as four at a time.

The OG Sansaire has been the best unit I’ve ever used. It circulates so much better than the Anova and Joule and keeps temp perfectly. I’ve had it for 12 years.
Sandglass42
Have the same with the green display – the kickstarter display!
Love it. Use my Anova a lot to. Perfect for Christmas.

I use a roaster, pond pump, and temperature controller from the diy days every now and then when I have to cook multiple things at different temperatures at the same time
agmanning
I have a Kickstarter Anova, but now seem not to be able to calibrate it.
MoeMcCool
I still have mine, but switching temperature is messed up, I leave it at high temps and only use it for that since it’s my strongest unit.

Same model here!

Yes, I have that phone 😊

Sous vide supreme, 10 years. Only problem was the outer skin and inner container came unglued guessing because the heat and water sitting right on the seam. I epoxied it a few years back and hasn’t been an issue.
stevekrueger
Same. Exact. Model. Had a new Anova and it stopped working, so I returned it. Went back to the workhorse.
