Here’s a simple recipe for Chicken Skewers that’s delicious and easy to make:
Ingredients:
Chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) – 500 grams (cut into 1-inch cubes)
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
Salt – to taste
Black pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
Paprika – 1 teaspoon
Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Vegetables (optional): Bell peppers, onions, zucchini (cut into cubes)
Instructions:
Prepare the marinade:
In a large bowl, mix yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon juice, olive oil, and all the spices (salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and chili powder).
Marinate the chicken:
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight for more flavor).
Assemble the skewers:
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, alternating with vegetables if desired.
Cook the skewers:
Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for 5-7 minutes on each side, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
Oven: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the skewers on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Broil for 2-3 minutes for a charred effect.
Pan-fry: Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat and cook the skewers for 5-7 minutes on each side.
Serve:
Remove the skewers from heat and serve hot with your favorite dips, such as yogurt sauce, mint chutney, or garlic mayo. Pair with naan, rice, or salad.
Enjoy your delicious homemade chicken skewers!
