Was actually way yummier than I thought it would be. Was all out of eggs or I would’ve added one. Please no comment about too much sodium- I had this, or cereal with no milk. This had protein!

Just cut the hotdog like an octopus next time. This is a pretty normal broke meal.

Add some cheese to that and you’ve really got something.

Broooo, Costco hotdogs though?! That’s not broke food. That’s cuisine.

I have a vivid memory of making this for myself when I was 11. It was as close as I could get to making spaghetti and meatballs.

Buy eggs, cheese, sesame oil, and spam to enhance further and cheaply

Back when I was making minimum wage, I ate hot dog and ramen stir fry almost every day. I get the struggle.

  7. Add an egg and some hot sauce and I would smash.

  8. Truck_Toucher

Not shitty at all. I’ll never knock a struggle meal

I do this all the time. Boil the water with a little gochujang, hot dogs, ramen, and some cheese if I have. Like a mini Korean army stew.

$1.50 hotdogs and pop, are you sure you can afford that?

Pinch off a few turds and call it soup.

  12. It’ll sound weird, but toss half a slice of processed cheese on top. Don’t mix when it melts then you get a melty, creaminess to each bite.

  13. I swear to God. I’ve survived off this before. Legit the only thing I had to eat for a week. Man, those were the days.

I’ve done Cup Noodles and some leftover meats that my company had served, and I had already eaten most of it the day before. I had used green sauce (jalepeño based, but not actually spicy) on the meats. It probably was the best instant ramen I’ve had.

I’ve tried to replicate it somewhat, by just adding said sauce to just the ramen, and it didn’t work. I think the meats soaked up the sauce over night, and then added flavor back to the broth. Yeah the sodium was probably through the roof, but hey, struggle meal.

  15. Ohhh…look at Mr. Richy Rich Fancypants with his Costco hotdogs! Us plebs have to eat Bar S.

  16. This looks tasty to me, but I genuinely like cheap tinned hotdogs and the chicken noodles that used to cost like 9p a packet. Growing up poor leaves marks in strange ways.

Bruh, just make some fried rice. You can get a 12 lb bag of rice for $13 and eat for like 2 weeks. Just because you are broke doesn’t mean you have to eat abominations like that….

Do whatever you have to to get by. I like to add frozen veggies to my ramen.

  19. I think it’s wonderfully resourceful. You were economical and got your protein. Good job!

You could have gotten a $5 rotisserie chicken from Costco and made at least 3-4 meals from it. 😋

    That’s not shitty. It’s actually a delicacy.

  22. yogadavid

Half America living on that now. I would call it 💩 ramen but I can’t because I’m hungry

  23. El_Jefe-o7

Bro ive been starving myself and this looks bomb

  24. If you can splurge on some pork chops after payday for dinner one night- save a few and cut them up and add to the Ramen for dinner the next night. I love it

Had this combo in college in the mid 1980’s more than I want to remember.

    Add a little vinegar.

  26. Unhappy_Wishbone_551

I’ve been that broke. Sometimes, I think about those times with fondness. We were practically dirt floor poor, but we had a lot of fun too.

  27. Stock up on canned veggies too if you can! Tomatoes or beans can really strengthen a cup of ramen. A mayo packet or a pad of butter can also add some fat to help fill you up. Hang in there!

Look at this baller with 100% beef. We Vienna Sausagers are not worthy!
