Now learn how to cook fries. Just kidding those look decent too. Nice job

Different cuts & kinds of meats are fun to try.

Might be a cool experience to use a smoker on a fattier ribeye, or get some sous vide going on elk etx

Using a spit over an open fire is quite the experience and tricky to get perfect – some ideas for the rest of 2025

Now make some good fries to go with it. Not frozen ones.

Expand to different ways of cooking. Master a grill steak then work toward pan seared without baking to finish. Then pan sear baked finished. Each way allows you to use different herbs and spices, plus butter, to finish the steak. Each way cooks the meat and marbling differently giving you a new experience with the same product. Same effort really.

Then, branch out and try butcher steaks or buy quarter cows. Experiment with grass raised grain finished then grass raised grass finished.

Move on to the next task. Good job with this steak

  6. I wish my New Year’s resolution was this easy…

Sounds like you had a great year. Now onto 2026!

Once is cool. The real skill is being able to do it repeatedly with the same cut. Then you move on to other cuts. They all cook differently and will create challenges. Once you get that down, do it for a group dinner party. That’s when you really start to see where skills are.

  9. Home made peppercorn sauce or your preference of sauce, seriously good looking steak

Take the fries out 1 minute sooner, has to be exactly 60 seconds😂

If you closely followed a recipe, do it again and look at it less or try to do it from memory until it’s learned and you can’t forget how to mess it up.

I know this probably sounds crazy to alot of people but, the idea of fries with steak is a no go for me. The steak looks great though.

Every time I cook I always make sure to arrange the food to look perfect on the plate. I take several pics and choose the best one to post on the internet for complete strangers to judge. My hope is these unknown inhabitants of the world wide web will approve of the delectable dish and my hard work to make not only food, but perfection. Before I post I
add dessert and this dessert comes in the form of a question. A question that will be profound and thought provoking. A question that will awaken unbridled emotion to the hearts and souls of those who gaze upon the perfect dish while pondering the comment that will either fuel my already huge ego with approval or bring me to my knees shouting,”Why God” Why Me? If disappointment is shown towards the miracle resting on the plate. I am very serious about my food and the pictures I take of the food. There are many more steps to my process but I have given just a little nibble of my expertise and this expertise is telling me that you do not take this profession seriously. Your pic is ok at best and I’m being generous with that ok and the question is Bush League. I feel bored and sad when I see work like this. I’ve got an answer to your question on what to do next. How about this. Take that garbage and throw it away and just give up. Throw in the towel and walk away. It is not wrong to admit you are not and will never be good at this. But I see you gave it your best and failed miserably and in the end that’s all that matters!
